Frozen Under is a short electronic track derived entirely from the sound of ice clinking around in a glass. There’s a fair amount of processing and manipulation of the sounds, obviously.
Earlier this week, Marc Weidenbaum of Disquiet put out a call for soundcloud users who might be interested in making some music around a specific theme. Interested members got an e-mail on Friday with the prompt “record ice cubes in a glass and make something with it.” You can hear more of the tracks at the soundcloud group Disquiet-Junto. There are some really killer tracks in there. Everything was done inside cubase, with a few third party plugins.
