Abbey Road covers versions 2.0s
You’d think by this post that I’m some sort of fan of the Beatles, which isn’t exactly the case. All of these links crossed my path in the last day and they’re all pretty awesome:
- From the Wooster Collective: A Peanuts spoof of the Abbey Road cover that’s painted on the ground but pops up to appear 3 awesome dimensions. Click through to see how the street painting looks from other angles.
- The Tumblr Live! takes album covers and photoshops out the dead members. It’s a little uncomfortable if you think about it too much but visually awesome.
- From the Abbey Road studio, a live web feed of the street where the album photo was taken. I watched for about ten minutes and I saw at least a half dozen people stopping and posing in the street for friends or photos. It probably works best if you’re watching mid-day on a weekend. If I had to regularly drive there, I’d probably run someone over after a few months of dealing with the knuckleheads (Even if its interesting to think about people interacting with a simple photo decades later).

Winter Sunsets
The days are slowly getting longer, but I’m still driving home during sunset, which is making time for Doug projects limited. But a few things are moving forward, and this weekend I’m excited to put together some sound art for Disquiet. Also, some cool pictures and summertime nostalgia sounds.
